SOKOTO state is located in the extreme northwest of Nigeria near the confluence of the Sokoto River and the Rima River. It has an estimated population of more than 4.9 million and of this population, there were 366 new cases identified in 2018 signifying a continuous presence of the leprosy in the state. The Leprosy Mission Nigeria therefore works in Sokoto to alleviate the sufferings of people affected by leprosy as well provide medical cure to the affected persons. Presently, TLMN has a project targeted towards enabling disadvantaged populations to drive sustainable development in the state.
